Hello Ladies! C.C., given that you have been on a strict yarn diet, I am amazed and perplexed at how the number of skeins of yarn on the shelf behind you has grown exponentially! I know you had exemptions, but really! LOL!!!! You do “yarn diet” like I do. My question is, how did this happen? Are your skeins of yarn procreating overnight in the dark? Hahaha!!! p.s. It’s ok if your answer is, “yes, they are”.

~If you have a question for us, post it in the Ask the Geeky Girls thread on Ravelry.

Giveaway -

Amy (abingham) and Bessie (bkklan2006) are opening a yarn shop in Orange, California, called Fiberlicious. They are having a Kickstarter to help get things ready for opening the shop in June 2015. To enter, visit their Kickstarter page https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1558343482/fiberlicious-yarn-store and then comment in the Giveaway Thread in our Ravelry group with your favourite Kickstarter reward. 2015 #GGKCRAFTYPAD Edition for Edinburgh Yarn Festival

What is #GGKCRAFTYPAD? It's a monthly photo a day challenge. The hashtag stands for Geeky Girls Knit Crafty Photo A Day challenge. We give you a prompt, you take a photo and share it. Most of our prompts tend to be related to craftiness but we've done others as well. For example, the February prompts list was themed alphabet soup using a different letter of the alphabet for each day. March's prompts list is colour themed.

So, how can you participate???? Well, there are actually several ways:
INSTAGRAM - Honestly, Instagram will be the primary arena for participating in this challenge. Simply take your photo, add a caption to it, tag it with the hashtags #GGKCraftyPAD and #EYF2015 and share it. By adding the hashtags #GGKCraftyPAD + #EYF2015, others who are participating will be able to see the pictures that have been shared for the daily prompts. C.C. is on Instagram as cc_almon & Damaris is on Instagram as d_isabitgroovy so make sure to follow them if you haven't already.

TWITTER - You can also share on Twitter by taking a photo and uploading it to Twitter along with the hashtag #GGKCraftyPAD . Follow us on Twitter as geekygirlsknit.

FACEBOOK - Feel free to share with your friends on your own Facebook profile page or on the Geeky Girls Knit Facebook page.

OTHER PLACES - Feel free to share your photos other places like your own blog, Ravelry, Tumblr, Flickr, etc. Be creative and then tell us about it! :-)

PRIZES - So what about these prizes? We will utilize a random number generator to select winners who have posted on Instagram a picture that matches the theme for the day (Saturday the 14th is shenanigans and Sunday the 15th is enabling) and who have tagged the picture with both the tags #GGKCRAFTYPAD and #EYF2015. If your photo is selected, C.C. will comment on your photo asking you to contact her via Ravelry so she can get your prize to you.

We'll be in the Podcast Lounge as well as in the JavaPurl Designs / KnitRunDig booth, so come by and say hi! Can't wait to see your photos!

And we'd love for you to participate in the rest of the month of March if you want to. You can find the March prompts list here: http://geekygirlsknit.blogspot.com/2015/02/march2015-ggkcraftypad.html

Happy Knitting!

March 2015 Crafty Photo A Day Challenge

We're playing with colours in this version of #GGKCraftyPAD! AND we have a special Edinburgh Yarn Festival collaboration on 14-March and 15-March. Find out more about it here: http://geekygirlsknit.blogspot.com/2015/02/2015ggkcraftypad-eyf.html

Without further ado, here comes the prompts list for March 2015 Geeky Girls Knit Crafty Photo A Day Challenge.

So, how can you participate???? Well, there are actually several ways:
INSTAGRAM - Honestly, Instagram will be the primary arena for participating in this challenge. Simply take your photo, add a caption to it, tag it with the hashtag #GGKCraftyPAD and share it. By adding the hashtag #GGKCraftyPAD , others who are participating will be able to see the pictures that have been shared for the daily prompts. OTHER PLACES - Feel free to share your photos other places like your own blog, Ravelry, Tumblr, Flickr, etc. Be creative and then tell us about it! :-)

How will you remember what the daily prompts are???? Again, there are several ways:
~Save the image above to your phone or your computer and check it daily. Maybe even make it your wallpaper.
~Bookmark this post in your web browser and come back daily for the next prompt.
~Save this monthly Google Calendar as a bookmark in your web browser or even add the Google Calendar to your own Google Calendars.
~Follow us on Instagram as cc_almon, on Instagram as d_isabitgroovy and/or on Twitter as geekygirlsknit as we'll be posting the prompt for that day at some point during the day.

Most of all, we just want to encourage you to be creative. We hope this is as fun for yall as it is for us!!! Can't wait to see your photos!

And don't forget, each week, we will choose our 5 favorite photos from Instagram and they will be shared in the podcast and show notes for the podcast following that prompt. There are so many great photos and we can't pick all of them, but we love looking at everyone's!

Until next time,
Happy Knitting!
