June 2017 Crafty Photo A Day Challenge

Summertime and the living is easy, at least it is in June's edition of #GGKCRAFTYPAD. We're so excited to see what you come up with! Here's the prompts list for June 2017 Geeky Girls Knit Crafty Photo A Day Challenge.

--------------------------------------

AL = A-long (i.e. KAL, knit-along, crochet-along, weave-along, spin-along)
WIP = work in progress

So, how can you participate???? Well, there are actually several ways:
INSTAGRAM - Instagram is the primary arena for participating in this challenge. Simply take your photo, add a caption to it, tag it with the hashtag #GGKCraftyPAD and share it. By adding the hashtag #GGKCraftyPAD , others who are participating will be able to see the pictures that have been shared for the daily prompts. C.C. is on Instagram as cc_almon & Dami is on Instagram as damisdoodles so make sure to follow them if you haven't already.

TWITTER - You can also share on Twitter by taking a photo and uploading it to Twitter along with the hashtag #GGKCraftyPAD . Follow us on Twitter as cc_almon and damisdoodles.

FACEBOOK - Feel free to share with your friends on your own Facebook profile page or on our Facebook page.

OTHER PLACES - Feel free to share your photos other places like your own blog, Ravelry, Tumblr, Flickr, etc. Be creative and then tell us about it! :-)

How will you remember what the daily prompts are???? Again, there are several ways:
~Save the image above to your phone or your computer and check it daily. Maybe even make it your wallpaper.
~Bookmark this post in your web browser and come back daily for the next prompt.
~Save this monthly Google Calendar as a bookmark in your web browser or even add the Google Calendar to your own Google Calendars.
~Follow us on Instagram as cc_almon, on Instagram as damisdoodles and/or on Twitter as cc_almon and on Twitter as damisdoodles as we'll be posting the prompt for that day at some point during the day.

Most of all, we just want to encourage you to be creative. We hope this is as fun for yall as it is for us!!! Can't wait to see your photos!

And don't forget, each week, we will choose our 5 favourite photos from Instagram and they will be shared in the podcast and show notes for the podcast following that prompt. There are so many great photos and we can't pick all of them, but we love looking at everyone's!

Until next time,
Happy Knitting!

Ask the Geeky Girls -
Jayne (jcstormy) from Wisconsin asks:
Dami, I am wondering if you’ve been homeschooled all your life, or just since moving Edinburgh? Regardless, has your high school curriculum been based off of US Education Standards, or England Education Standards. Was attending a Scottish high school an option, or because you are only there on a Visa was this not an option. Congratulations on completing high school! I’m guessing the past few years have been a bit more challenging, but what an accomplishment!!

Ask the Geeky Girls -
Mary (jamn2knit) from Florida asks:
I know you answered similar questions in your last episode “pink heffelumps” in regards to visiting Scotland and yarn shops. My kids (19 and 23) and I are planning to travel to Ireland, Scotland and England late February/ early March 2018. I know most people go during the warmer, tourist months but we want to avoid the “tourist ” time. I also understand the weather will not be ideal but that’s what wool socks and sweaters are for, right? We’re looking at approximately 3-4 days in Dublin and the surrounding area, 2-3 days in Edinburgh, a train to London and stay there for a day or two until we return home.

Now for my question, would you still recommend someone visit during that time period or not? Dami, I would like your thoughts on this, as well. At least I know what yarn shops to visit in Edinburgh, but I can’t remember if you suggested any in London. I’ve been told there aren’t many in Ireland but I’ll still take a look. I’m thinking we’ll do some sightseeing and museums or just walking around during the day and check out the local pubs in the evening, where I’m looking forward to experience the atmosphere while knitting.

We mention: London Craft Guide by Yarn in the City & Episode 103 ~ In Which We Properly Terrified Damaris, Episode 157 ~ In Which Cats, Cats, Cats, Cats, Cats, & Episode 237 ~ In Which There’s PINK Heffalumps Inside!!!
