Ask The Geeky Girls -

~mlalove1718 who is Amy from Ohio asks:
I am making the free pattern ‘Let it Snow! ear flap hat’ by Daphne Adair and am slightly confused. After you make the ear flaps it says to “CO stitches using long-tail method on circular needles. Continuing with the circular needle, knit earflap stitches from one DPN. Using a second strand of MC yarn, cast on another 29 sts, then knit earflap stitches from second DPN. Make sure all your stitches are in order—no twists!—and join 88 sts total on needle).”

Is there a way to cast on the second strand of MC yarn and join in the round without actually breaking or cutting the yarn? I am a beginner knitter and have never knit anything that requires you to breaking or cutting the yarn. I understand the concept but am slightly confused (again I know!).

~If you have a question you'd like us to answer, please post it in the Ask the Geeky Girls thread in our Ravelry Group
